Intellia is looking for a self-motivated Animal Care Technician III who would be responsible for animal husbandry, maintain facility biosecurity, maintain equipment and logs. The person needs to be familiar with the function of the facility to be able to help maintain the high standards.
Monitors and record daily animal health and welfare including animal health observations and animal husbandry duties.
Perform daily water bottle and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required.
Maintain accurate records including room logs, health reports, cage cards, autoclave and washer records, and other records as required.
Monitor and maintain consumables stock to sustain day to day operations.
Immediately report any facilities issue to Intellia management, as appropriate.
Reviews, comprehends, and complies with all SOP's and quality assurance standards pertaining to specific area.
Ensure biosecurity controls including cleaning/sanitation of animal facility and equipment, environmental monitoring, and rodent health monitoring.
Strictly follows all procedures necessary to maintain animal housing, including room or facility personnel entry; personnel protective equipment use, spraying in all equipment and materials into controlled areas.
Provide mentorship and act as team lead to other animal care technicians.
May provide assistance with restraint, handling and treatment of rodents including dosing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: At least three years related animal care and handling experience required.
Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level (LAT) preferred but not required
Weekend and holiday work will be required
