How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

We are excited to welcome a new member to our growing team and company. This is a hands-on role where you will develop your technical skills, including cGMP aseptic technique, maintaining various cell types in culture as well as managing the tissue culture space. If you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and enjoy working in cross-functional teams, this is the role for you! As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for various cell culture activities, including:

  • Execute established protocols and procedures pertaining to cell culture maintenance for multiple cell lines, assisting with setting up cell-based assays, media preparation, single-cell cloning, as well as expansion and banking efforts

  • Assist in assay setup by providing requested cell lines as well as maintaining request platform and schedule.

  • Compile data to trend cell growth to assist in troubleshooting

  • Assist with laboratory work such as routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as well as maintaining laboratory samples, reagents, and consumables inventory

  • Author and review SOPs for laboratory equipment

  • Maintain well-documented records of analytical data, laboratory notebooks, execution of assays and stability data

This is a unique role that will provide you with opportunities to impact ex vivo and in vivo applications by:

  • Supporting Intellia’s cross-functional platform development team to help build potency assays that quantitively measure and characterize drug products as well as CRISPR/Cas9 components, lipid-nano particles, and AAV.

About You:

  • BS in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with 2+ years of experience in an industrial setting; or A.S. with at least 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in aseptic technique and maintenance of cell lines. Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, media preparation and inventory management is required.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills. Able to efficiently and effectively organize your time, prioritize responsibilities and work independently with minimal oversight.

Meet your future team:

The Potency team in Analytical Development is made up of highly motivated and lively individuals with an innate curiosity to learn. You will report to a Scientist in Potency Analytical Development. This team leads various important elements of the Technical Operations (CMC) department, including designing assays which quantitively measure activity for in vivo and ex vivo drug products and drug product components.

Currently, the team works mostly on-site, although, Intellia has moved many activities to a virtual environment. The Human Resources team and Cultural Ambassadors have made it a priority to continue to foster a sense of community among the group. This includes virtual happy hours, team all-hands meetings, game nights, and more! You can expect to join a hardworking, collaborative environment and to work with a dedicated and team-spirited group of people.
