How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a critical member of the Investor Relations and Corporate Communications team, the Director of Corporate Communications role is responsible for developing and implementing communications programs to elevate Intellia’s brand and communicate the promise and progress of our innovative science and therapeutic pipeline. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, you will develop communications strategies and materials to support company pipeline programs, key milestones, thought leadership initiatives and patient advocacy activities. You will coordinate across stakeholders to deliver corporate positioning and messaging and support social and traditional media engagement. You will also help lead employee engagement initiatives to ensure robust and timely information to the internal Intellia community of employees.  Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop materials to support external-facing communications and announcements with a particular focus on digital strategies including website, MOA and patient videos, and other digital content.

  • Build digital strategies and oversee corporate social media strategy across channels to raise awareness of our innovative science, pipeline programs and corporate brand

  • Increase internal education and adoption around digital, socializing knowledge and best practices across functions, including awareness of compliant digital communications.

  • Oversee web development projects as necessary, working with technology partners and related development teams

  • Develop materials for internal employee communications and partner with Human Resources team to ensure alignment and strong employee engagement

  • Develop strategies to demonstrate the value of our product candidates and clinical and research portfolio

  • Build relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists

  • Lead patient advocacy initiatives and development of communication materials for patients

  • Conduct analysis of impact of corporate media strategies

  • Liaise with agency partners and vendors to execute strategic vision and supporting tactics

About You:

If you have prior experience developing and executing scientific and corporate communications strategies in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, this could be the role for you! Additional requirements include the following:

  • BS/BA degree in communications or science with 10+ years of professional experience in public relations or corporate communications, ideally from a pharma, biotech or PR agency

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail; storytelling expertise and the skills to translate complex topics and concepts into engaging messages

  • Strong digital and social media channel experience

  • Experience with pipeline communications or new product communications planning.

  • Strong command of news writing and media relations experience in the areas of corporate and scientific data platforms/messaging

  • Previous experience working with web development (familiarity of general elements and processes required)

  • Prior experience in either oncology or rare disease markets

Meet your future team:

This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. The team is made up of individuals who bring a range of experience and knowledge, spread across Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, and Scientific Communications.  You will join a team of passionate individuals who enjoy working with one another.

The team is currently working virtually with a tentative return to the office in Cambridge, MA slated for January 2022 with some location flexibility expected to continue for the group. Although currently working in a virtual environment, the group has made it a priority to continue to foster a sense of community among the team. This includes virtual happy hours, team all-hands, and more! You can expect to join a hardworking, collaborative environment.
