How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As the Director, TechOps and Manufacturing Systems, you will be the lead IT Business Partner for Intellia’s TechOps and Manufacturing teams which includes: Quality, Analytical Development, Process Development, Engineering, CMC, and External Manufacturing teams.  In this role, you will be responsible for managing the strategy, planning, management, and support of TechOps and Manufacturing Systems to support our growing business. This is a hands-on leadership role, and we are looking for someone who will build the team while leading projects.

In this role, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging stakeholders from TechOps and Manufacturing/Engineering groups and organizational leadership to develop a mission and vision for the TechOps and Manufacturing Systems team.

  • In partnership with key business stakeholders, align IT with key company goals and priorities by driving and implementing strategies that leverage technology.

  • Identifying and developing TechOps and Manufacturing Systems roles and design/execute a strategic sourcing strategy to deliver the agreed-upon goals and objectives for your group.

  • Providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to the TechOps and Manufacturing Systems staff.

  • Evaluating opportunities to improve the planning, support, and management of TechOps and Manufacturing Systems in concert with Intellia’s IT PMO.

  • Overseeing and optimizing how we leverage Managed Service Providers to support our applications.

  • Utilizing SDLC best practices to plan, implement, and support TechOps and Manufacturing Systems across your key business areas.

About You:

You are a strategic IT partner and trusted advisor with proven experience. You are a strong people leader who is excited about the challenge of managing a team as well as developing systems and processes that allow Intellia to scale from late phase clinical studies to a commercial organization.

You also have experience with the following:

  • Leading the identification, implementation, and support of TechOps and Manufacturing Systems including the build out of a manufacturing site for clinical phase products.

  • Building and leading a team to support manufacturing capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with executive leadership, key stakeholders and project teams to drive project delivery.

  • Extensive knowledge of best practices and techniques related to SDLC, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.

Meet your future team:

This role will report directly to the Vice President, Information Technology. The IT team is made up of eighteen other individuals, who bring a range of experience and knowledge. This role will have  two direct reports who are coming from the broader R&D Systems team when we create the team for TechOps and Manufacturing Systems. While a small team, you will join a group of passionate individuals who enjoy working with one another. Within the IT team, you will partner with the IT PMO group which supports the implementation of our systems; the Enterprise Applications team which supports systems used by corporate functions; ReD and Development Systems group which supports systems for Clinical, Regulatory, and Research and Early Development; the Infrastructure and Operations team which has a heavy cybersecurity focus; and our Governance, Risk, and Compliance team which is adding new capabilities.

The IT team is currently a mix of remote, hybrid, and onsite employees. We are open to applicants working hybrid or onsite for this role. Much of the work will be onsite to support the building of Intellia’s new manufacturing site in Waltham, MA.  Although in a virtual environment, the group has made it a priority to continue to foster a sense of community. This includes virtual happy hours, team all-hands meetings, game nights, and more! You can expect to join a hardworking, collaborative environment.
