Laboratory Informatics Specialist

SUMMARY:
Intellia Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Informatics Specialist based at our Cambridge, MA site. The individual in this role will support R&D and Quality groups. This includes understanding the business processes of the groups we work with and applying technical expertise to assist in the software implementation and application administration and support. 

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of science – biology, chemistry, engineering, or related discipline is preferred, or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, which includes 2+ years of administering laboratory and quality systems.
  • Experience working in a GMP regulated environment, preferably in the biopharma space.
  • Experience working with users to configure data management software to meet business workflow requirements.
  • Experience working with relational databases.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of databases and laboratory applications including LIMS, ELN, SDMS, and Chromatography Data Systems (e.g., Waters Empower software) desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, to complete assignments within defined time constraints.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Software Life Cycle and cGMPs regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge in following areas of software development:
  • Software product requirements documentation
  • Data management software configuration/administration
  • Software QA testing and documentation
  • Incident or issue tracking system

Preferred domain knowledge:

  • Laboratory Information Management Systems LabVantage LIMS) and/or ELN
  • Laboratory processes and instrumentation
  • Laboratory software compliance requirements
  • Quality Systems (Veeva Quality Vault- QDocs, QMS)

Desirable technical skills:

  • Windows client and server system knowledge
  • Programming or scripting knowledge (Javascript)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Strong ability to comprehend complex problems and apply knowledge to propose potential solutions.
  • Analytical skills to be able to understand the needs of customers and work out priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under established guidelines and instructions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides application admin support, training, and troubleshooting to the Research and Quality areas for laboratory instruments/systems. This includes LIMS, LES, ELN and/or various lab instruments (Waters' Empower)
  • Provide application and admin support for quality systems which includes Veeva Quality (QDocs and QMS)
  • Communicates issues, technical failures, and projects status updates to direct supervisor.
  • Review and implement change controls associated with these applications for impact to the QC laboratories.
  • Perform project management activities in support of business process improvements.
