Intellia Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated accounting professional who will be responsible for Intellia’s financial reporting and technical accounting efforts. Reporting to the Director of financial reporting and technical accounting, the successful candidate will assume a key role working collaboratively across the Finance team and the Company to ensure: (i) compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings; (ii) assessing and providing technical accounting insights for new contracts and providing insights to senior leadership; (iii) designing, implementing,  and tracking of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) Act; and (iv) assisting with reviewing the Company’s tax provision and related tax work. Additionally, this individual will possess strong collaboration skills to partner with internal stakeholders as well as external auditors and consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team in preparing the Company's SEC reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy and other ad hoc filings, including preparation of financial statements, footnotes, auditable support and analysis
  • Assist with research and preparation of technical accounting treatment position papers
  • Review new contracts and assess for accounting consequences.
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and accounting policy developments and support implementation efforts including required disclosures and senior management education
  • Participate in the month-end close process and management reporting for assigned areas
  • Perform special ad-hoc projects as required
  • Perform ongoing SOX compliance requirements. Support and adhere to strong internal control policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement
  • Liaise with external auditors. Support consolidated financial audits including preparation of PBC items
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting policies, best practices and procedures
  • Other general finance, accounting and tax work as deemed necessary

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA is required
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of audit and/or SEC/technical accounting experience
  • Strong technical accounting background and understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and committed to a high level of accuracy
  • Must have strong work ethic and be able to meet critical deadlines. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent team player who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
