Protein Engineering and Production:
Non-Viral Vector Biology Lead

Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

As the Non-Viral Vector Biology Lead you will build and oversee a team to advance Intellia’s gene-editing platform and pipeline. This role will apply new approaches to engineer and optimize non-viral payloads for gene editing. This role is cross-functional and will work closely with team members in groups across the organization including disease biology, pre-clinical, manufacturing, bioinformatics, and formulations.

  • Manage and mentor a team working on vector biology, design, and research-grade production

  • Develop assays for validating and optimizing novel vectors in vitro and in vivo

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and advance novel vectors into Intellia’s clinical pipeline

  • Present scientific plans and data to project teams and senior leadership

  • Manage collaborations with CROs and academic/industry partnerships, and facilitate technology/method transfer

Meet your Future Team

The Platform Innovation team is a collaborative, energetic, and passionate group of individuals whose mission is to advance and differentiate Intellia’s platform to enable curative therapies. You will report to a Director with vector design and production experience, and work closely with leaders in the field of CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. The candidate will have many opportunities to broaden his or her experience with multiple cutting-edge gene therapy technologies that advance Intellia’s pipeline.

The team is currently working mostly onsite to execute workflows in a wet-lab environment, therefore, the candidate must be local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating. While some of the day-to-day operations may be home-office-based, maintaining a strong relationship with your teammates is critical for conveying your scientific expertise while fostering an environment for the growth of young scientists interested in a career in the biotech industry. If you join us, you can expect to be part of a hardworking and collaborative environment. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team to make a difference in patients’ lives.
