How You Will Achieve More With Intellia:

Intellia is seeking an experienced scientist for protein purification.  The chosen candidate will purify recombinant proteins, derived from either mammalian or bacterial cells, as reagents to be used across the research organization.  The scientist will have knowledge and understanding of common chromatographic methods used for isolating proteins. The incumbent will need to have a solid background in protein chemistry and characterization methods.  Good communication skills and an ability to collaborate across functional areas is essential. 

  • Provide expertise in the area of protein biochemistry and purification

  • This position requires work at the lab bench and you will be asked for advice and opinions by fellow scientists

  • You will purify various proteins derived from either bacterial or mammalian cells

  • Characterize proteins using a variety of analytical methods

  • Measure residual host cell contaminants (mostly endotoxin and purity by gel or HPLC)

  • Present information to cross functional teams

  • Present data to the larger organization

  • Read literature on relevant proteins and related research areas (immuno-oncology)

  • This position is not a managerial position

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related area of study) with > 15 years of purification experience.

  • Master of Science degree in life sciences with >10 years of purification experience

  • PhD degree in life sciences with >5 years of purification experience
