Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a Research Associate, you will help support the company by managing all the different compounds needed to conduct crucial, decision-making experiments. You will work closely with an Associate Scientist to learn all the ways of compound management. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different compounds needed to make life-changing therapeutics and how to use a multitude of different automation instruments. Role responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and helping users submit compound requests

  • Registration of compounds in database and LIMS

  • Tracking and storing compounds appropriately

  • Receive requests and orders for compounds and distribute to scientists within the proper turn-around time

  • Participate in new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) testing and implementation

  • Managing multiple workflow queues/requests

  • Gain exposure to the diverse groups here at Intellia and support to explore developing career interests

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with either a Bachelor of Science degree or 2+ years of experience with compound management. If you have strong communications skills (written and oral), strong attention to detail, and enjoy working as a part of a team, we encourage you to apply! Additional role requirements include:

  • Proficient in following, maintaining, and writing SOPs

  • Experience with liquid handling platforms is a plus

  • Strong time management and process-oriented thinking

  • Works well in a team environment and is a true team player

  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively and independently

Meet your future team:

The Genomics team is a fun, energetic, and passionate group of individuals, who are focused on pre-clinical NGS data support for IND or CTA packages. You will report directly to the Manager of NGS Production of the Screening and NGS Platform Development (SNPD). This hiring manager oversees many of the essential support systems that enable Intellia to do great science.  This includes compound management, a variety of NGS applications, extractions and more.  All of which will provide the candidate with multiple areas inside and outside of the group for cross-training and exposure to cutting edge gene therapy development.  The hiring manager values teamwork and a positive attitude above everything else.  There is nothing that cannot be accomplished when you know a team has your back.

The team is currently working mostly onsite to fulfill and process compound orders. Therefore, we require a candidate to be currently local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day operations require wet-lab work, our team is focused on building not just technical expertise but fostering an environment for the growth of young scientists interested in a career in therapeutic biotechnology. If you join our team, you can expect to join a hardworking and collaborative environment. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team that will make a difference in patient’s lives.
