Why Join Intellia?
Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.
Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.
We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.
How you will Achieve More with Intellia:
Intellia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to join the eDev team! As a Scientist of Oligonucleotide Analytics, you will join the Early Development (eDev) and embrace the opportunity to transform cutting-edge sciences and technologies to powerful cures. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, qualifying and validating, and executing bioanalytical methods in a collaborative environment working closely with team members. The role includes analysis of Cas9 mRNA/sgRNA components in lipid nanoparticles (LNP), AAV vector and gene insertion in cell and gene therapy programs. The team is responsible for various elements of the preclinical translational bioanalysis, including data analysis and review as well as communication of findings with internal and external partners. You will have an important role in supporting programs in the early development, preclinical, and clinical stages.
Additional role responsibilities include:
Design, implement, and troubleshoot bioanalytical experiments, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues
Develop bioanalysis methods to support early development and preclinical studies
Provide technical support on clinical bioanalysis planning and tech transfer.
Participate in laboratory operations including coordination of sample testing and maintenance of laboratory sample and reagent inventory
Accurately document project and sample information, protocols, and experimental details using Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN)
Draft SOPs and technical reports
Assist with tech transfer of assays to external testing labs
Are you an enthusiastic and collaborative team-first player? If you are an effective communicator, and you thrive in an environment with time-critical objectives, this may be the role for you! To be successful in this role, you'll need to leverage your strong expertise and experience in molecular biology, genetic engineering, quantitative biology, or analytical sciences. In addition, your in-depth knowledge and hands-on technical skills in qPCR, qRT-PCR, and/or ddPCR to design novel methods will be critical.
A Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience OR a Master’s Degree with 6+ years of industry experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of industry experience is required for this position.
Meet your future team:
The eDEV team is a highly motivated and collaborative group, with an innate curiosity to explore and develop. You can expect to join a fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative environment. We look forward to developing your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a team together.
The team is currently working mostly onsite in a wet-lab environment, therefore we hope you are currently local to Cambridge, MA, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day operations require wet-lab work, our team is focused on building not just technical expertise but fostering an environment for the growth of scientists interested in a career in therapeutic biotechnology.
