Chemistry & Delivery Sciences:
Scientist, RNA Technologies

Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a Scientist, you will join our RNA Technologies team within the Chemistry and Delivery Sciences group and embrace the opportunity to transform amazing sciences and technologies into powerful cures. You will be responsible for providing support inmRNA platform development by leading mRNA discovery and implementing new and existing mRNA processes and analytical methods.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Functions independently as a technical expert in mRNA synthesis by enzymatic method development, execution, and troubleshooting

  • Evaluate novel RNA technologies and methodologies that could improve our RNA quality

  • Provides leadership in collaboration with colleagues across disciplines from early research to process teams in support of project goals and timelines

  • Coordinate product characterization and in-process testing of mRNA molecules

About you:

Your experience working with RNA and your understanding of the basic principles and analytical techniques necessary to characterize RNA quality and function will enable you to be successful. Most importantly, if you have an enthusiastic curiosity to develop mRNA processes and learn about the future of medicine in gene editing, we strongly encourage you to apply! Other qualifications and desired skills include:

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related area with ~1 year of post-Ph.D. relevant experience, OR
Master’s degree with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience

  • Previous experience with RNA Biochemistry and/or RNA Biology is a must

  • mRNA and oligos development experience utilizing bioanalytical tools such as (U/HPLC, FPLC, CE, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing) is desirable

  • Experience managing people is a plus

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrated independent thinker who continuously seeks innovative solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills

Meet your future team:

The RNA Technologies team is a fun, brilliant and energetic team of scientists focused on the RNA platform development to create the curative gene-editing technologies of the future. This group is responsible for driving the early-stage development of Intellia’s mRNA DS for Intellia’s lead programs. Furthermore, we are responsible for the development of enzymatic process and characterization tools to build a wide range of mRNA modalities for Intellia’s next-generation platform technologies.

You will report to the Director, RNA Technologies, who is leading the advancement of our RNA gene therapy platforms and participates in developing innovative therapies for patients. He loves to see people grow and develop and looks forward to learning from your experiences and building the team together.
