Scientist, T Cell Biology

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity for an immunologist is available in our Gene Editing group where we leverage top-notch CRISPR technology to fully unleash the power of cell-based therapy for autoimmune and immuno-oncology indications.  The ideal candidate would be versed in T cell biology with a strong expertise in experimental assays related to molecular and cell biology. Experience with in vivo models would be a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to reach desired goals
  • Establish in vitro and in vivo assays to support T cell projects
  • Communicate research and development findings with internal and external teams/partners in a clear and concise manner
  • Diligent and timely documentation of experiments in ELN and reports

Qualifications:

  • PhD in immunology, cell biology or related field with 0-2 years of postdoctoral experience. Industry experience would be a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently and productively in a highly dynamic, scientifically rigorous, and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to optimize complex protocols and assays to meet desired outcome
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn when faced with new challenges
  • Strong motivation to deliver solid scientific results and focus on delivering on goals and timelines
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in parallel
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience with handling human T cells, T cell isolation techniques, activation and transduction of T cells, T cell expansion, multicolor flow cytometry for T cell characterization
  • Experience with expansion of engineered T cells
  • Strong background in human T cell biology and T cell-based assays, including proliferation assays, tetramer staining, cytotoxicity assays, intracellular flow cytometry staining or cytokine profiling assays by ELISA or MSD, cell activation marker analysis
  • Development and optimization of purification methods for edited T cells
  • Some experience with gene editing such as gene deletions and insertions
  • General molecular biology techniques
