Why Join Intellia?
Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.
Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.
We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.
How you will Achieve More with Intellia:
Your career and where you want to go is important to Us. As a Senior Research Associate in our Immuno-Oncology group, you will help develop Intellia’s novel cell therapy products utilizing Nobel prize-winning CRISPR technology. In this role, you will make an impact by performing unique in vivo studies with tumor models and our engineered cell therapies. Working closely with team members, you’ll learn new approaches, execute experiments, perform analyses, and have the opportunity to present your work to the larger group. Key responsibilities include:
Helping us find better ways to kill cancer by developing tumor models and conducting ‘unique’ animal studies
Providing cell culture and molecular biology support with a focus on learning more techniques
Collaborating with colleagues to implement and troubleshoot experiments to generate great science
Learning to analyze and coherently present your great data while keeping a good electronic notebook
Supporting the development of new technologies and innovative approaches that aid in generating novel discoveries
We are looking for a candidate with a BS/MS degree in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, or related discipline, with relevant experience in an academic or industrial setting. The ideal candidate thrives on working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, displays outstanding communication skills, and is passionate about pioneering new gene-editing technologies to treat cancer.
Desired skills include:
A strong desire to learn and grow with us
Animal handling experience, including various injection techniques, is required
Experience with tumor models is a plus
Cell culture and virus production experience is highly desired
Experience with basic molecular biology and immunology assays such as DNA extraction and PCR, immune cell isolation, and flow cytometry is preferred
Familiarity with cell therapies or CRISPR is preferred, but not required
Meet your future team:
The Immuno-Oncology group is a collaborative, energetic, and passionate group of individuals that discover novel allogeneic cell therapies to fight a wide range of cancers. This hiring manager is a member of the in vitro and in vivo validation team. Given the breadth of work on this team, the candidate will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of areas across all ex vivo platforms and programs.
The team is currently working towards our goals in the lab and vivarium, which requires us to work primarily onsite. Therefore, we require a candidate to be local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day operations require vivarium and lab duties, our team is focused on building not just technical expertise but fostering an environment for the growth of young scientists interested in a career in biotech. If you join our team, you can expect to join a hardworking and collaborative environment. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team that will make a difference in patient’s lives.
